Representing at the 2nd Kern Autism Conference Series 2016

Shari and Rousina at Kern

On Wednesday, November 9th, staff members Shari L. Stamps and Rousina Arelleno represented our office at the 2nd Kern Autism Conference Series 2016. The conference was held at the Canyon Hills Assembly of God, 7001 Auburn St, Bakersfield, CA 93306. The guest speakers were Dr. Ann Simun, an International Speaker and Sandra Shove, an Advocate. The discussion was on how to put together goals in an Individual Education Plan (IEP) that had tangible and obtainable goals. There was a lot of information on who should attend an IEP and the importance of how goals should be structured from appropriate data. Utilizing these tips could avoid frustration for parents and educators and potential law suits. The Kern Autism Network provided a very nice continental breakfast and snacks throughout the morning and parents and educators were given the opportunity to visit with the Sponsors and get information on services provided. We look forward to the next conference in the series after the New Year.

Sincerely,
