“Dear Ms. Shari, Dr. Suter, and vision therapists,
After my accident I didn’t know or couldn’t tell that anything was wrong with my eyes. I knew I had changed, because when I read my head would hurt so badly, but I didn’t know that it would be so drastic. when my mom started me on vision therapy after I was discharged from Centre for Neuro Skills, I was really nervous, a little scared, and very quiet. Then when I met Ms. Shari, she really surprised me! She tried to make me feel comfortable with all the new people around me, and helped me understand the therapy. At first I thought she was a little weird, with all her penguins around her desk and the fact that she was more out-going than a lot of my old therapists. I thought that it was really nice and it did start to make me feel more comfortable. I worked my best at all the homework hat Shari, Ms. Kay, Dr. Suter, and the other vision herapists that I worked with gave me. Everything that you have helped me with has helped me feel so much more confident in myself, I stand a little taller, and I’ve improved my reading from three pages in ten minutes to 20 pages. I’m so thankful for what this therapy has done for me, I’m also really sad that that I’m done with it, but it’s not going to be the last time I see you guys. And I won’t complain or put up a fight if you ever want me to come back to help other patients, but I’m just putting it out there. I thank you all: the vision therapy program has really helped me.”
