Every year, Jesus Shack organizes “Operation: Back to School” for low-income families of Bakersfield in preparation for school. The event provides free backpacks, school supplies, physicals, immunizations, vision screenings and much more. One of our doctors, Dr. Virginie Dang, volunteered and offered her services to these kids, along with several other doctors and volunteers. The event took place in Motor City on Wible Road on Saturday, August 13th, and it was a great success. Attendance was great and each child who came through the doors for their vision screening had a big smile on their faces as they proudly wore their brand new backpack.
